Star activ8

Star Foundation and your Council's Sports Development Team are bringing to you for the first time a programme where the whole school gets to benefit from a range of activities, brought in for free. A full development programme will then be introduced.

Working with the Star Foundation and your Sports Development Team you will get:

    •  A full day activity, taster sessions for all pupils.
    • After School Club, (length to be agreed).
    • Pupil participation in activities they may not normally see.
    • Local community clubs, inclusion into school.
    • Fully Qualified local Coaches/Instructors.
    • Fundraising for the school through recycling unwanted items.
All helping provide a structured programme for your school and help promote local community clubs and projects, keeping your pupils creative and active. You also have the opportunity to raise much needed funds for your school. Through the Star fund raising by recycling scheme schools are encouraged to collect unwanted clothes, shoes, CD/DVD’s and toys from parents, pupils and staff your school will then get paid for their donations. When visiting a school on collection days, Star do not just want it to be about collecting the bags of unwanted items, when available we bring one of our ambassadors to spend some time with the children. The visit by the ambassador may also include mentoring, coaching and demonstrations. The Star Foundation arranges collections that suit the school, this can be 3-4 times a year on a set date agreed by both parties. Our main aim of the day is to raise funds for the school from the bags of unwanted items and also raise awareness of the great activities in the local area for young people to join, so as part of our continued commitment to the school and community we will be doing this through StarActiv8 in partnership with your Sports Development Team.
Club & Community Participation:
The important part of this project is to promote local community clubs, organisations and groups, to show young people there are some excellent facilities and activities in their local community.
Helping clubs increase participation and increase memberships by giving them the opportunity to show off to the next generation of participants.
