Quote from a StarActiv8 participating School:

“I would like to thank yourself and the Star Foundation for the excellent two days!

The collections brought considerable donations, and the activities for the children were excellent! Combining the collections with an exciting activity is a brilliant idea! Our school has benefited both financially from the collections as well as creating a great buzz amongst the pupils. Thanks again!”

Raised for schools/clubs/organisations, including FREE swimming in your community:

Total Tonnage of recycled unwanted items saved from landfill:

754,561 tons

“With The Star Foundation making available funds for sponsorship

to young people so more are able to enjoy physical and creative activities

in their own local community, all raised by recycling unwanted items,

great news for local communities, young people and the environment.”

John Regis MBE, Olympic Gold Medallist

On the pre-booked date of your collection we will turn up with our van to collect all the unwanted items from your members  and their families.

If you have space we can also locate one of our recycling banks to collect all year round, for when families forget and also so the local community can get involved and support you. There is no cost to the club for the fund raising or placement of recycling bank.

Great way to get funds in from members without asking for money only their unwanted  items, also your club will be helping us support more young people and clubs in and around your community.

Building Community Relations

Utilising our network of clubs/groups and organisations we will be taking you and your activity into local schools to help promote what great activities and facilities. The StarActiv8 project is determined to show more young people that there is more to life than the games machines or sitting on street corners, and with your help we will be able to provide all pupils in the school with a physical or creative activity. Depending on the size of the school we may arrange upto 3 activities for the day.

After School Club:

With the expert knowledge of your sports clubs or activity we will look to work with you even further by providing the school with an after school club for 1 hour a week over 6 weeks, Star and some local Sports Development Teams will look to subsidise the cost of sending a coach to the school. This help provides excellent continuity to the pupils as these the potential future members of your club/group. This is a further great opportunity for you to promote how good your club/ group coaches/instructors are.

Exit Plan:

By utilising the same club, instructors and coaches from local community clubs and organisations we are providing the perfect opportunity to young people to find an activity they may have never known was so close.
